Our Programs

Six interconnected streams of support, addressing the full spectrum of needs faced by vulnerable people in Uganda's justice system.

No single service is enough — people need the full picture

Happy Care Foundation's six programme streams are designed to work together. A beneficiary who receives legal aid also has access to counselling, skills training, and resettlement support — because sustainable change requires addressing every dimension of a person's situation.

How our integrated support works

Identification

We identify vulnerable individuals through courts, detention facilities, and community referrals.

Assessment

Each person receives a comprehensive needs assessment to understand their legal, social, and psychosocial situation.

Support Plan

A personalised support plan is developed, combining relevant services from across our programme streams.

Active Support

Our team provides ongoing legal, counselling, and practical support throughout the person's journey.

Reintegration

We support stable housing, employment, and community connections for long-term independent living.

The last mile matters: our transport fundraise

Our single biggest operational barrier is transport. Many of our beneficiaries live in remote communities with poor infrastructure, making court dates, therapy sessions, and rehabilitation programmes extremely difficult to attend on public transport.

We are raising $105,600 USD to acquire a dedicated Toyota Hiace Van that will transform our service delivery across all three regions.
